SUREedge® SUNSHINE

Sureline allows organizations to move large amounts of data, more than can be reasonably sent across a WAN, to the target environment without utilizing or affecting the WAN bandwidth or taking weeks or even months to complete. With the SUREedge Sunshine appliance, SUREedge captures data from hosts, including physical Windows and Linux servers, and VMware, Hyper-V and KVM virtual environments. It delivers the following features:

  • No agents need to be installed on production servers
  • Both evolving and non-evolving data can be migrated
  • All data is duplicated, compressed and encrypted

SUREedge Sunshine: How Does it Work?

A Sunshine appliance is shipped to the customer’s data center. The unit is configured on the network and encryption passwords are created. With the Web-GUI interface, the IT admin captures the data from one or more servers / file shares. Data is de-duped, compressed and encrypted inline on Sunshine storage. The Sunshine appliance is shipped to the target cloud or data center location and the data is uploaded to the customer’s account / system. The customer logs into their account, uses SUREedge to access the data with their encryption password to rehydrate the data and place it in the production / DR environment. Once complete, the data is completely erased from the Sunshine appliance. If evolving data was migrated, after rehydration, the changes that have taken place since the initial data capture to the appliance will be sent across the WAN to the target environment.
